I am able to post new bugs, or new comments to existing bugs with 4.x, but with 6.0, it always times out.
I think it's a dup. Which build are you using. There was a timeout reset issue with keep-alive connections which has been fixed 2 days ago or so.

a fresh build, from last night. I just rebuilt on linux, let me see if that build has the problem.

This isn't just bugzilla...it's pretty much ANYTHING that has to do with form submission. I can't post slashdot posts, log on to change e-mail details in IHUG, etc... it's much more then just bugzilla. Marked as blocker and changed it to all os's..maybe we need check boxes instead of a pull down box when it comes to OSes.
Severity: normal → blocker
OS: Windows NT → All
Summary: browser timing out when I try to post to bugzilla → Browser timing out when I try to submit ANYTHING!!

btw: That "earlier keep-alive problem" was bug# 36023 which doesn't work again. I've reopened it and marked this bug as a dependancy on that bug.
Is it timing out right away or after a while? I just adjusted response timeout up to 120 seconds by default (it was 30 seconds).

for me, it timed out after a while. but with 4.x, it posted right away.
I doesn't time out for me today. I'm wondering if smth. was more fundamenrtally broken then just timeout values.

Ok. When GET is used to post forms it works. POST appears to be hosed. I never see inputStream being anything else then null, thus it's never posting any data. The only place where i can see mRequestStream can get set is in AsyncWrite in nsHTTPChannel.cpp. AsyncWrite is never getting called by anybody.

Ruslan, it is timing out after a while, but it seems to time out on ANYTHING that takes data, like clicking on a button and hitting submit. I'd agree with the assessment that the "post" operation is hosed.

Well. It will time out eventually, because it waits for the response which never comes because the data has never been posted in the first place. The other bug was a geniune timeout issue. This one has to do with the fact that for some reason InputStream is not getting set on the channel.

I posted this in Bug 37115 (was marked a dup of this bug). Has anyone seen this? I'm getting somthing similar on win 98 with build 2000042512. Rather than hanging(or timing out), I get the "Please find the Personal Security Manager application" dialog. Sometimes I can get the form to submit if I click twice. This has happened at with all forms I've tried to submit. Go.com, bugzilla query page, yahoo, etc. If I click cancel on the PSM dialog it comes back up after a few seconds. Sometimes it closes after clicking on cancel a few times. I do not have a PSM installed.

Gagan, any status on how close you are to getting this regression fixed? Nominating for dogfood. This pretty much makes M16 unuseable for me. I can't comment on my bugs or change tinderbox messages and stuff. I've been forced to download M15 as my browser again. It'd be really great if we could get this fixed ASAP.

Gagan is about to check the fix in. It turned to be a merge typo kind of thing.

Verified to work (i.e. I could post just fine) on Win 95 build 2000042708 and linux build 2000042709, tentatively marking this verified fixed.
