Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; el; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20061204 Firefox/2.0.0.1 Build Identifier: version 1.5.0.9 (20061207) Thunderbird was working fine, but from some day and on, the problem started. Thunderbird cannot load email. It connects correctly to the server, authenticates, even says that it loads email x/y (x out of y). But the message "Loading mail x/y" in the status bar suddenly disappears before even loading the first email. The icon in the top-right of the window, looks like it is loading, but nothing happens. I use Gmail. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

A pop3 protocol log might help tell what's happening <http://www.mozilla.org/quality/mailnews/mail-troubleshoot.html#pop>
