User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20060601 Firefox/2.0.0.1 (Ubuntu-edgy) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20060601 Firefox/2.0.0.1 (Ubuntu-edgy) When firefox users update to version 1.5.0.9 the root certificate of "Staat der Nederlanden" fails to authenticate properly. Also an upgrade from FF 1.5.0.9 to 2.0 renders de root CA unusable. Dutch government websites rely on the proper athentication through the root CA of "Staat der Nederlanden". As a government official I have first hand information on this issue as the Dutch Tax Office receives quite some complaints about this bug. Be aware that a clean install does not appear to suffer from this bug. More information (Dutch) can be found at http://www.pkioverheid.nl/download-stamcertificaat/ Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. update/upgrade from 1.5x series to 1.5.0.9 or update/upgrade from 1.5.0.9 to Firefox 2.0.x 2. browse to a government website to authenticate like http://www.pkioverheid.nl/download-stamcertificaat/ or http://www.digid.nl/ Actual Results: authentication with root CA "Staat der Nederlanden" will fail Expected Results: website can be authenticated through root CA "Staat der Nederlanden"
Gerv, can you help out here?
Fabrice: - What does "fails to authenticate properly" mean? If there's a problem with particular SSL sites, can you give an example? - Why is the difference, if any, between "fails to authenticate properly" and being "unusable"? The first site you give as an example does not seem to have an SSL version. The second one does have an SSL version, but it contains mixed content and so the connection is marked as insecure. Can you explain the problem a bit more? Gerv
Fabrice, is this still an issue. ? If its still an issue, please comment in the bug with a response to comment 2.
