User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2pre) Gecko/20070111 SeaMonkey/1.1 Build Identifier: SeaMonkey/1.1 I do not want any junk mail filtering. Unchecking Junk mail both in preferences and in each account setup still allows some messages to be flagged as possible Junk. Seems random - less that 5% of messages get a flag (I get well over 100 messages per day). Some junk flags today seemed confined to asking about the attachment. Unchecking junk controls on SM 1.07 and earlier worked fine. -- JohnW-Mpls Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.When I read the mail I downloaded. 2. 3. Similar to Bug 213758 but Most messages do not get flagged as Junk. Recent appearances of Junk flag have focused on attachments. See attached screen capture. -- JohnW-Mpls

John, that screen shot doesn't show junk status at all. It shows that the message contains remote content -- typically, an <img> in the HTML message body, where the actual image data resides on a server somewhere. Such content is normally blocked as an anti-spam measure, but it doesn't mean spam in and of itself. If the message had actually been detected as junk, the banner across the top of the message would read "Thunderbird thinks this message is junk." In the thread pane (list of messages), the junk status is further indicated by an icon in the "junk" column -- are you seeing those icons turned on?

Bug 369425 --- Comment #3 from Mike Cowperthwaite <mcow@well.com> 2007-02-07 19:07:38 PST --- => John, that screen shot doesn't show junk status at all. That screen shows that your programming interjects junk controls when I have set options to ignore all junk controls. => that the message contains remote content -- typically, an <img> in => the HTML message body, where the actual image data resides on a => server somewhere. An error in the Junk Mail Notice - It assumes the attachments are still on the server but not so - when I get my mail, I download the complete message including all attachments. And I have set "View|Show Attachments In Line" - I want to see them without interference. => In the thread pane (list of messages), the junk status is further => indicated by an icon in the "junk" column -- are you seeing those => icons turned on? Consistent with my desire to not be bothered by Junk/anti-spam controls, I do not turn on the junk icon in the thread pane. Note: in contrast to the earlier Bug #213758, I do not see any junk flags on messages, just the attachments. Good, so far! {g} I did not see any Junk flags prior to SM 1.1 - 1.07 and before were clean. (I notice that 1.1 added the ability to set junk controls per mail address.) -- JohnW-Mpls

Unchecking the Block Images stops all the unwanted Junk Flags. Thanks! -- JohnW-Mpls
