Description

SVG needs a default visual indication of focus or hover for anchors

like the dotted line around images in html.

javascript is not always available or enabled.
it's unrealistic to expect authors to provide.
it's not clear how users can set a style sheet to provide.

Opera nightlies now provide a "bounding box" indication of focus.

Still no testcase, and this was never confirmed properly, so I'm marking UNCO.

Jonathan, please do NOT confirm bugs you file, despite the fact that you have the ability to do so, unless someone has instructed you to file a bug as NEW.

iirc this is a requirement of the standard.

if you continue to interfere with my bugs from a position of ignorance, I shall simply stop filing or commenting bugs, ask around.

Confirming this bug is going to require more documentation than "IIRC".

Just because you CAN confirm a bug does not mean you SHOULD. You are not a Core:SVG developer, and none of them have ever confirmed this, so until one of them does, I suggest you leave it UNCO as it should be.

Visual indication of focus is part of SVG 1.2 tiny and not part of SVG 1.1. At the moment we're targeting 1.1 full.

So I will confirm the bug as an enhancement. Implementing this is unlikely to happen in the near or even mid term.

#10 please refer to comment #3 where a reference to UA guidelines is  given.

this bug does not refer to the content guidelines SVG 1.1 or 1.2, because the it is something  the User Agent or browser should provide.

Comment 12 is uncalled for and advocacy in bugs isn't appropriate. I confirmed the bug as this is down as a Core->SVG bug and as such must be about the SVG specification and nothing else. If it is about something else it's invalid as a Core->SVG bug.
