User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20061204 Firefox/2.0.0.1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20061204 Firefox/2.0.0.1
If I pull down the Bookmarks list, and do a "Sort By Name" right-click function, the top item, which is a folder of bookmarks, is removed. I cannot get access to that bookmark again unless I restart Firefox.
Subsequent "Sort By Name" clicks add separator bars to the top of the bookmark list.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Click "Bookmarks" in the menu (Bookmark list displays, in my case, with the first entry in the list being a bookmark folder).
2.Right-click over bookmark entries, and select "Sort By Name" (menu closes as expected)
3.Click "Bookmarks" in the menu again.
Actual Results:
The first entry (bookmark folder) is missing.
Expected Results:
The first entry should still be there.

I also saw this once while testing this function and it didn't come back. Happily there are backups in the folder bookmarkbackups now.
Firefox 3.0 will have another bookmarks/history system called "places" so I expect that this problem won't happen again.

It works for me with latest trunk. Can you retest the bug with it? Remember to use a blank profile.

This bug doesn't appear for me in Firefox 3. So, as far as I can tell, it's fixed.
