RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 160021

(Reporter: ms-fluffy-muffin, Unassigned)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20061204 Firefox/2.0.0.1
Build Identifier: version 3 alpha 1 (20070206)

Currently in Thunderbird (all version's) you can only set a filter to send (Delete) messages to the trash on that particular account, it would be great if there was an option to permently delete as well, so I could say for example set a filter to permently delete spam, any data loss would be my responsiblity!

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set up a filter to delete message(s)
2. Click on Get mail
3. Recieve new message's
Actual Results:
When any message is filtered it will be sent to the trash on that account it was recieved!

Expected Results:
I would expect to have an option to permently delete, remove, kill, zap message's

With an option to permently delete, the result is message(s) would be permently deleted like messages are with the Retention Policy (folder properties), and not just send/remove it to a trash folder!
