I see that behavior in Firefox as well. Looking at the source when it happens, the image given in the source is the image being displayed, which means that the site is constructing these pages incorrectly, and the issue should be reported to the site's webmaster.

Note that the site also tries to use document.write in a page that claims to be XHTML, which is invalid and may be causing further breakage (although since it is served as text/html that may work by accident).
does anyone have any idea as to why safari renders it correctly?
