User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2pre) Gecko/20070111 SeaMonkey/1.1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2pre) Gecko/20070111 SeaMonkey/1.1
When logging off of windows session seamonkey (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2pre) Gecko/20070111 SeaMonkey/1.1)mail profile is left running and when you log back into your session you are unable to use your profile . killing the process seen through task manager does not resolve this issue and cannot be released without rebooting the windows machine resulting in unwanted downtime.
Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1.login as user and open SeaMonkey use browser and download mail, close and log off
2.have another user login to windows and do whatever the session requires and logout.
3.log back in as first user and find profile locked. if you then use the default profile as an alternative. the next time you log in you are unable to use mail without a pc reboot.
Actual Results:
Profile locked after login out of windows session
Expected Results:
All profile sessions to be cleaned up when you log out without turning the the pc off
sent mail and other mail info stays intact when you are able to log back into your created profile after rebooting

I'm running SeaMonkey 1.1.1 on XP pro and Linux 20060. In 1.1.0, I had the same problem and updated, but the problem still exists. Once I launch the suite, if I close the window, the profile seems to be locked, although the ap doesn't show on TaskManager. I have to keep at least one window open (collapsed; inactive) at all times or I have to select an additional profile. At this point I try to leave 3 or 4 windows opened (inactive) at all times. I have four profiles, and have only bothered to transfer bookmarks once. The only solution on either platform that I know is to reboot the OS.

I am running SeaMonkey 1.1.9
XP Pro v.2002 Sp2
Dell Dim3000 pent4 2.80GHz 512RAM
The profile hung on my second profile, but seems to be able to restore the default profile every time.
I'm running 1.1.7 on Linux 2008.0 It hung on the default profile. but when I set up a new profile i couldn't get it to hang on either one.
thanks,
david

Can you reproduce with SeaMonkey v2.0a1pre ?

This WFM with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.17pre) Gecko/20101129 SeaMonkey/2.0.12pre.
Since 1.1.x isn't supported anymore, this is probably wontfix if it really is a bug with SeaMonkey and not some broken shutdown of the OS.
