Bug 83265 introduced a pref to block timed redirects (<meta HTTP-EQUIV=refresh content=...). In Options->Advanced->General->Accessibility, the pref reads: "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page". It's off by default. Also see: http://diveintomark.org/archives/2007/02/08/howto-block-meta-refresh http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meta_refresh http://kb.mozillazine.org/Accessibility.blockautorefresh
