It would be great if there was a way to configure Thunderbird to trash any incoming mail that isn't from someone in your address book. Hotmail has this.

you can do this trivially with a mail filter. If <From> not in AB <personal AB> move to trash. I'm not sure it's the greatest idea, but you can do it.

Yes, I know, that's how I'm doing it now, the enhancement request was to see if there was general interest in making this a junk setting as it is in Hotmail.

Sounds too dangerous to me. If someone wants this functionality it's trivial for them to set up a filter to do it (as per comment 1).
