When I check "popup Blocker" on the menu, it shows the check off. When I exit Firefox and return again to Firefox, the check for poipup blocking is gone. I tried downloading the newest version but the problem still remains. I can't check off "popup blocker" and get it to maintain that staus once I close firefox.

Reproducible: Always

3.
Actual Results:
Everything is described above. repeated attempts to check off the box, close firefox and returns results in the box to block popups being blank (no check mark).

Expected Results:
popups still occur

block popups
Do you have the McAfee Privacy Service software installed?

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Popups_not_blocked#Other_software_disables_the_popup_blocker
Nope. I have McAfee Security Center. I've read the given mozillazine article, and there is no user.js file anywhere on my hard drive.

The McAfee Security Center popup blocker is NOT checked.
Ah, if I request McAfee Security Service to block popups, the setting will stay. Otherwise, no. So, it looks like McAfee is the source setting for blocking popups, NOT the Firefox setting.
