Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2) Gecko/20070219 Firefox/2.0.0.2

Using dialup modem, after disconnecting, firefox keeps attempting to reconnect, opening network connection dialog box. In addition Firefox 2.0.0.2 attempts to connect to internet upon starting, home page is local file of bookmarks. Prior version did not exhibit this behavior.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. start firefox 2.0.0.2, this version immediately tries to connect to internet
2. connect to 'net, disconnect from 'net.
3. firefox continues trying to connect
Version: unspecified → 2.0 Branch
I have the same problem. It is STUPID! There is no reason to not have options for this. Obviously I want to be able to automatically connect when I'm viewing something that is online, but there is no good reason for Firefox to constantly annoy you trying to reconnect when you aren't even looking at online content, or are looking at content that has already been downloaded into the cache!
I'd say this is fixed by bug 454381.
