User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en; rv:1.8.1.2pre) Gecko/20070223 Camino/1.1b Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en; rv:1.8.1.2pre) Gecko/20070223 Camino/1.1b I have Type Ahead Find enabled, but when I type characters with an accent like ë, ú, â (by pressing Alt + u + e) in the text-field of a Google Docs document or a new rich formatted Gmail message, the ë is typed but Type Ahead Find also searches for ë in the web page. This only happens with ¨, ^, ´ and `, not for any other characters involving the Alt button. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start a new document in Google Docs or make a new rich text message in Gmail 2. Type Alt + u + e Actual Results: Type Ahead Find starts looking for ë in the webpage. Expected Results: Insert ë, do noting else. I have turned Type Ahead Find on by using the CamiTools plugin. Mac OS X 10.3.9, Dutch keyboard layout.
This is a dupe, but I can't find it now.
Summary: Typing accented characters in Google Docs activates Type Ahead Find → Typing accented characters in Google Docs/Gmail activates FAYT when auto-start is on
