When typing e-mails in a mailing list, I press enter after I type a name. If the name is in the address book, autocomplete comes up and I'll press enter when it is trying to autocomplete the correct name/e-mail. Sometimes after pressing enter it will enter the name and go to the next line (to add another person to the list). Other times, it enters the name and closes the dialog (so enter=pressing OK). I'd prefer it to go to the next line so I can enter many people into a mailing list quickly (similar to in e-mail composition, pressing enter in the to: field lets you add another recipient).

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. In the address book, click "New List" or open an existing mailing list.
2. Below "Type e-mail addresses to add them to the mailing list:", start typing a name or e-mail address which is in the address book.
3. When autocomplete is activated, press enter.
Actual Results:  
Sometimes pressing enter causes the dialog box to close. Other times, it causes the cursor to go to the next line to enter another name into the list.

Expected Results:  
I would prefer the dialog box to stay open so I can type another name into the list.

It seems like most of the time the dialog box closes. But if you try enough times, the other behavior will happen eventually.

Confirmed . Same problem with TB-3a1 (20070206) , running under Fedora core 6 .
But please note : This problem/bug can't be easily reproduced.

Confirmed. version 1.5.0.10 (20070221) XPP SP2.
4 or 5 lines then 'Enter' closed the window. Did not repeat on subsequent attempts.

Extensions: Talkback, Update notifier, Display mail user agent extension, Right encoding, Attachment tools, Habu, Change quote and reply format

Enter key works by luck, sometimes when I open the list properties and append the entries, it will work for 1-2 more rows before it closes again.

Maybe comment 4 was to me?  I no longer use Thunderbird and don't even have it installed so unfortunately I can't help.
