3.
Used the last used path or the one in my preference.

I'm not able to reproduce this, with TB 1.5.0.10, Win2K.
In any attempt to save a message, an attachment, or All Attachments, the Save As dialog is pointing to the last-used directory for any of those actions.
I know there have been (and may still be) some problems trying to save to a network drive if that drive is somehow offline, but I assume that doesn't apply to your situation.

Resolving WFM since there hasn't been any information since the last comment.
Please comment if the issue still occurs in the latest 2.0.0.x / trunk nightlies.

Using 1.5.0.14 NL and its still there running on windows XP pro.
Before .10 when you right klicked in attechment windows on "Alles opslaan" (save all) there popsup a window that ask you where to store all the attechments to. It defaults to "My documents" what use to be the last used directory.

Rob, 1.5.0.14 is no longer supported. Please upgrade to the latest supported version of 2.0.0.14.

bienvenu, does the save dialog work from the default folder (My Documents) as intended?

Has now 2.0.0.15 and the problem stays.
When I choose file > attachments > save all Thunderbird opens the My documents dir every time. It was the last directory I used. This is working correct when I am saving attachments 1 by 1. This problem started with version 1.0.5.10 (NL).
The options for saing attachments is set to drive z:, so this should by my default drive for storing attachments, not my documents.

I believe the save dialog starts with the most recent directory used - the setting that lets you specify a save directory is for when we *don't* ask you, i.e., don't bring up the save dialog.
