Build: 2000-04-26-08-M16 comm build. Steps to reproduce: 1. Log in your POP account and set it to Plain text mode via Edit-->Mail/News Account Setting Window 2. Invoke Mail Compose Window 3. Turn on Ja IME, Input Ja. result: Applicaion hangs

I cannot reproduce this. I used my local build, tried a POP acount with plain text. I can type japanese text.

I am not able to reproduce it: on both POP and IMAP i'm sending out a message with JA chars just fine.
Could it be a dup of bug 36711? If you enter some ASCII first and then switch to Ja mode, the application doesn't hang.
