I think this might be an RDF bug. I can't see anything in our xul or css that
looks out of place to me.
When I read a message or when I click on the green diamond in the thread pane,
the folder counts show up in the thread pane for a number of messages. The
total message and unread messages for the folder pane and thread pane both use
the same properties. But it look s like when we notify RDF that folder counts
have changed, they are showing up in the thread pane as well for some reason.
I think that reading and deleting a message have slowed down a bit because of
this.

scott, i'm not seeing this at all from a build pulled this AM (2000-04-26)
before the tree opened. tried both threaded and date-sorted views.

Interesting. Both Seth and I were seeing this yesterday and I still see it
today. You have to click on the green diamond or read a message, but if you're
doing that, I don't know why you aren't seeing this.

Yeah, that's what I'm doing...
waterson - try to follow the steps in the dup bug, too, to reproduce.

I don't understand the bug. Are you saying that folder counts show up as a row
somewhere in the *thread pane*? Or that the "unread count" in the *folder pane*
is showing the wrong number?

I'm saying that the unread and total message columns in the thread pane start
showing the unread and total message counts for the folder. It doesn't happen
until the first time you change one of the folder counts. For example, deleting
a message will change the total folder count. Or marking a message read by
reading it or by clicking on the green diamond will change the unread message
count.
