Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2) Gecko/20070219 Firefox/2.0.0.2
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2) Gecko/20070219 Firefox/2.0.0.2

I first found this when visiting the referenced URL.

If I attempt to download an image when Firefox is viewing an actual image, not an HTML page, and right click, then select 'Save image as...' it will save the image as HTML. A workaround I found quite quickly is to use Ctrl-S or File->Save.

Currently this only reproduces on sites that take a URL and redirect you to an actual image file, such as deviantART when you download an image. When going to View image, then right clicking -> save image as, it works fine.

This bug itself is trivial, but I thought I should report it.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Find a URL that redirects to an image. (Easiest to find: www.deviantart.com, find a deviation with a Download link on its page, and click it.)
2. Right click image, select Save image as...
Actual Results:
It would only save as an HTML page containing the image content.

Expected Results:
It should download as an image.

Using PortableFirefox. No custom theme; no extensions would seem to mess with this functionality.
