When I restart Firefox, it always comes up with that box UNchecked, thus allowing popups. It will not retain my preference to block popups. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Start Firefox 2.Tools/Options/Content, Check Block Popups 3.Okay 4.Restart Firefox 5.Tools/Options/Content, Popup block box is not longer checked Actual Results: as above Expected Results: as above retained the preference to block popups
Do you have a McAfee security product installed ? They have decided that popups in Firefox should be controlled from their own UI.

There is info about fixing this problem at: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Popups_not_blocked#Other_software_disables_the_popup_blocker Since this isn't a bug in Firefox, just in the way McAfee makes their program override it, I'm closing this ticket as INVALID. If you think it's a bug in McAfee's product (like I do) then please let them know.
