User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2) Gecko/20070219 Firefox/2.0.0.2
Build Identifier: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/nightly/2007-03-09-05-mozilla1.8.0/thunderbird-1.5.0.11pre.en-US.mac.dmg

When we click "About Mozilla Thunderbird" in the main menu, the build ID gets highlighted automatically. Not sure if this is by design but Firefox does not do the same thing.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open up Thunderbird
2. Click "About Mozilla Thunderbird"
3. Observe dialog
Actual Results:
"version 1.5.0.11pre (20070309)" (presumably build ID) gets highlighted.

Expected Results:
"version 1.5.0.11pre (20070309)" shouldn't be highlighted.
yes, I see this too using the Thunderbird 2 release candidate. Not sure why this happens, but relatively minor.

It's very convenient for bug reporting, and good enhancement for me.
 - No need to select text. "Simply press CTRL+C then CTRL+V at bug" is sufficient.

Still occurs in Thunderbird trunk version 3.0a1pre (2008031222). I'm not sure if this is ideal; Firefox and Sunbird don't highlight automatically.

Some debug output that might help:

I don't see this on linux (trunk). It's not some extension feature?
I still see it on Mac trunk 3.0a1pre 2008031403 nightly on a fresh profile on leopard.
I can see it on Windows version 3.0a1pre (2008031502)
OS: Mac OS X → All
Hardware: Macintosh → All
Tried it with a 2.0 windows build also, didn't see it. Strange...

WFM on Win XP version 3.0a1pre (2008031802), fresh profile. Changing Hardware and OS to Mac OS X only.
OS: All → Mac OS X
Hardware: All → PC
strange is right - problem is not gone for windows

windows version 3.0a1pre (2008040803) - Worked on first attempt immediately after startup. Failed on second attempt (selected) with no intervening steps. This is the *first* time I have ever seen it NOT happen.

fails version 3.0a1pre (2008032902) and others, as has been my experience.

Note that current 1.9.x based builds (now) have a cursor set at the end of the string.
(On Windows; apparently on MacOSX; but not(!?) on Linux: see imagines in bug 426046.)
