Please make sure there are no other copies of Firefox running on your computer, and then restart Firefox to try again. I delete whole profile, and the problem persist. I switch to admin account and everything works fine. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

This is a serious problem because Firefox mentions that there is an update available to a logged in limited user. User clicks install and install fails. Every time Firefox starts the error popup comes up, even after an administrator has installed the update. Only way to cure is to temporary add user to administrator group. Please fix this!

I found that deleting the profile (C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Mozilla) doesn't help. What you should be deleting is C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla. Same goes for Thunderbird if you also did a Check for Updates with that.
