User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2) Gecko/20070219 Firefox/2.0.0.2
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2) Gecko/20070219 Firefox/2.0.0.2
When the user logs on to a Windows network with their user name and password and tries accessing a site that requires Windows Authentication, they are presented with the site the want if the credentials they used at login are valid for the site. But this only works for the IETab plugin in Firefox or Internet Explorer. However, Mozilla's browsing engine always requests that the user log in to the site with a vague dialog, which could be improved.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to demonstrative URL
2. "Authentication Required" dialog always appears.
Actual Results:
Information in dialog that appears is misleading.
See "Expected Results"
Expected Results:
For security reasons, the dialog should always appear, but those double quotes should be replaced with the name of the currently logged-in user ("Enter password for <username> at <domain>"), so it is clear what credentials are required. It would save typing the username if just the password was requested in this case, with a link to "log in as another user".
It would also be nice if we changed the icon to "exclamation" and the text to "This user does not have permission to access XXX" and left the "log in as..." link, in the case where the user is not found in the relevant authentication database.

:) it's a bit funny that you posted a link to an INTRANET site for demonstration that noone outside of you entwork can access. but i think what you mean is already being worked on.
