About half of the signed emails I receive from other Thunderbird & SeaMonkey users arrive showing invalid signatures, because the message was altered by an MTA while in transit, or at its destination. Common alterations include: - changing line endings - removing trailing spaces from lines - converting from 8-bit to 7-bit encodings. - Appending a mailing list blurb to the end of message text. There have been many bugs filed about various aspects of this problem. This bug exists to track the others.
