Don't get the same error, but settings are not saved. I get this: Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004002 (NS_NOINTERFACE) [nsISupports.QueryInterface]" nsresult: "0x80004002 (NS_NOINTERFACE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://messenger/content/AccountManager.js :: setFormElementValue :: line 1062" data: no] Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9a4pre) Gecko/20070327 Thunderbird/3.0a1 ID:2007032703 [cairo]

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9a4pre) Gecko/2007032703 Thunderbird/3.0a1 I'm not seeing the errors in comment #3, but am seeing the behaviour shown at <http://tinyurl.com/yq4zzy>. This is what I've seen/done: 1. When I first go to Edit | Accounts | [news-account] | Server Settings, Default Character Encoding appears just as the down-arrow with a small bit of combobox to the right. 2. Dropping it down will give me a wider drop-down but still no text; the character encoding seems also to default to UTF-8 (my default settings /should/ be for ISO 8859-1). 3. If I set it to ISO 8859-1, UTF-8 is the selected encoding in new messages. 4. Exiting and restarting Tb results in the change to Arabic (IBM-864), although UTF-8 is the character encoding in new messages. 5. A new message created after resetting to ISO 8859-1 will still use UTF-8. 6. Exiting and restarting Tb will again give me just the down-arrow and a small bit of a combobox to the right of it. 7. Closing the Account Settings dialogue and re-opening it reset character encoding to Arabic (IBM-864)

One additional comment: part of what I'm seeing seems to be related to something I noted some weeks ago, but never commented on because I was stuck using the 2007-02-06 Linux build for some weeks: Edit | Account Settings | [IMAP account] | Server Settings : Server Settings When I delete a message: () Move it to this folder: For some time now, the combobox has been a wide, thin, box with no text and nothing selectable (/i.e./, no actual drop-down), but looking at today's build, it appears -- as I noted in points 2 and 6 in comment #4 -- as a down-arrow (arrow-head, I s'pose) with a bit of combobox to the right; as before, there is nothing selectable.

cc: David, as this looks like an nsIFileSpec removal issue to me.

thx for verifying the patch works, Antonio. But please don't mark bugs fixed - I'm supposed to do that when I check the fix into CVS, which I've just done this morning.
