User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20060601 Firefox/2.0.0.3 (Ubuntu-edgy) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20060601 Firefox/2.0.0.3 (Ubuntu-edgy) Using a screen resolution of 1024x768 and loading the given URL, scroll down until the link "Eric Weisstein, Guilloche Pattern: http://mathworld.wolfram.com/GuillochePattern.html" is just visible in your window. If you now right-click the link "Albanian Passport: http://www.bundesdruckerei.de/pics/4..." The context menu opens and the main scroll bar appears on the left and the text alignment seems to switch to right-aligned. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open URL; Screen Res 1024x768 2. Scroll down, until the link ""Eric Weisstein, Guilloche Pattern: http://ma.." is just visible on the bottom of your window. 3. Right click the link "Albanian Passport: http://www.bund..." -> the letters ".jpg" on the right side Actual Results: Context menu appears(and vanishes immediately) and scroll bar and alignment change. Dots in the end of lines vanish and appear on the left of the line. If you click again, the go back to normal. Expected Results: The context menu should just open. If you open another tab, switch to it and back again, the error can only be reproduced, if you scroll up and down a little. Is also only apperas if you try to open the context menu on the right, by clicking on the "end" of the link. If you want a pictured "howTo", please just contact me.
I don't see an "albanian passport" link on that page. I'd guess it was an advertisement (since the page does mention passports), but I don't see any ads on the page at all.
If you make a reduced testcase, we can try to fix the bug anyway, though :)
At the bottom of the website, it says "References:" The next line is: "Albanian Passport: http://www.bundesdruckerei.de/pics/4_presse/fotoarchiv/personal_downloads/albanienaussen.jpg" a little futher down you'll find the line: "Eric Weisstein, Guilloche Pattern: http://mathworld.wolfram.com/GuillochePattern.html" These are no ads, the site is dealing with patterns on official documents. I was not able to reproduce it with FF 1.5 on my windows machine, so I guess you need Linux + FF 2.0.0.3. I will try to make some screen copies & paste the link here.
Willem, the first line beneath "References:" for me is: Murphy, R. "Engine-Turning (Guilloché) in Watchmaking." http://www.rgmwatches.com/engine.html. Are you sure that the first link is the correct page?
WFM with Firefox trunk on Windows, maximized at 1024x768 resolution.
I managed to take two screenshots: - http://www.ti.rwth-aachen.de/~jansen/Pre_Rightclick.png This one shows the browser prior to a right click (I marked the spot where to click) - http://www.ti.rwth-aachen.de/~jansen/Post_RightClick.png Here you see the effects of the single right click @Samuel: I cannot even find the word Murphy on the page. The URL is the one given above: "http://www.maa.org/editorial/mathgames/mathgames_02_09_04.html".
It's not just the scrollbar... from the screenshot, it looks like the entire page is being treated as RTL. Paragraphs are right-aligned, periods and colons are placed strangely...
Right. But can anyone reproduce (and thereby confirm) this bug?
Summary: Right-clicking a link moves the scroll bar to the left side → Right-clicking a link turns the page RTL (moves the scroll bar to the left side, etc)
Mass-assigning the new rtl keyword to RTL-related (see bug 349193).
Keywords: rtl
I am unable to reproduce, but have an idea what causes this problem. Do you have "Switch Page Direction" at the bottom of your context menu? If you do, the problem can be reproduced by right clicking anywhere on any page and choosing "Switch page direction" from the context menu. (I personally don't like this feature, but some do.)
The STR in comment 0 don't seem to be valid, and the rest of the comments don't seem to shed a light. The screenshots are no longer accessible as well. And I can also verify that there is no "Albanian Passport" link on this page. -> INCOMPLETE.
