Download the signed windows installer. bring up a properties dialog on the installer (or hover over the icon on the desktop)

Description: Firefox

Note the description says Firefox.

The nightly builds don't show this problem. They correctly show Thunderbird as the description.

Nick and I were thinking the code that repackages the installer after signing the executables and dlls is somehow using the wrong 7zip file...?

We wouldn't respin for this but it'd be good to figure out where it's coming from and fix it on the 1.8 branch for future releases.

In addition to the description being wrong, on the version tab, the Product Name for the installer also has a value of Firefox.

What about the unsigned build ? Could be there are some Firefox values hardwired in the signing process.
Nick, the unsigned builds have a correct description of Thunderbird, so it does seem to be related to the signing process.

Looks like Nick has tweaked the installer so the .exe has the right description and product name in it now. 

The builds are now in:
