Pardon me if I'm just confused but I think this is a special case that is not a duplicate of the repeating task support that currently exists. Suppose you have a task that's set to repeat every three days. It is due Monday, you mark it done on Tuesday. Under the standard behavior, it would be re-scheduled for Thursday. Under the special "periodic task" case, it would be re-scheduled for Friday. Likewise, if it was completed earlier, say Sunday, it would be rescheduled earlier, Wednesday.
