Every other time I have to answer to the question:
Your last Firefox session closed unexpectedly.  You can restore the tabs and Windows from your previous session, or start a new session if you think the problem was related to a page you were viewing

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Firefox
2. Either pick Restore session or Start new session button
3.
Actual Results:  
Fire fox starts normally starts after answering Firefox - Restore Previous Session box 

Expected Results:  
If you answer start new session, it starts a new session.  If you answer restore session it restores to the last session / page that I was at. My last Firefox session did not close unexpectedly, it was shut down notmally

Firefox should have started normally.

Can you reproduce this behavior on a clean profile? See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager for how to create one. If not, then this bug is WORKSFORME.

What you describe most often happens when you don't close Firefox before shutting down/logging out (see bug 342885 and the underlying bug 333907). Should that be the cause, this bug is a DUPE of bug 342885.

Otherwise you'll have to be more precise in your steps to reproduce, because I'm not able to reproduce the issue you describe.

So far, since I've created a new profile, I cannot get FF to fail.  I've tried switching back and forth between profiles.  I'd like to leave this issue open for about a week to see it if returns.

Hold the phone, I was able to recreate symptom if I leave Firefox open and restart Windows.  Dialog box comes up.  Is this working as designed?  All other software (Word, Excel, IE, do not have a dialog box after a abnormal shutdown.

That's bug 342885 (see comment #2).

As originally filed, this issue is WORKSFORME (you can always reopen if you manage to reproduce the original issue or file a new bug if you encounter a different one which hasn't been filed yet).
