Details

When importing a "mailing list" (a nickname that has multiple addresses) or alias (a nickname that points to another entry), the Eudora Address Book importer fails to resolve nicknames that are defined in another address book.

Consider the following address books:
Address Book 1:
Janis_Smith janis@smith.com
Joe_Smith joe@smith.com

Address Book 2:
TheSmiths Janis_Smith,Joe_Smith

Eudora supports this scenario, but the importer cannot currently resolve a nickname across address books. The results after importing currently are:
Address Book 1:
Janis_Smith janis@smith.com
Joe_Smith joe@smith.com

Address Book 2:
Janis_Smith Janis_Smith (i.e. name and email address are incorrectly the same)
Joe_Smith Joe_Smith (i.e. name and email address are incorrectly the same)
TheSmiths Janis_Smith,Joe_Smith

It looks like the only way to support this correctly currently would be to duplicate the individual entries from Address Book 1 in Address Book 2. We're not currently sure when this bug will be fixed (in any fashion). Please vote for it if it's an issue that's important to you.
