We've been discussing opening up add-on data for non-humans to read.

The specification for this will be discussed at http://wiki.mozilla.org/Update:API and implemented in this bug.
This bug and the wiki only talks about reading data. I added a couple lines on the wiki page for writing data as well (I'm thinking specifically about add-on localization). If this was supposed to be a read-only bug...sorry. :)
Re-assigning to Ryan, who indicated that he'd like to take on this project.

Erm, that's not the "rflint" I was looking for!

I'll try and get some stuff up on the wiki towards the end of this week once I'm done with exams.

Mozdev would be interested in easing the publishing of extensions to AMO; an API for doing that would be ideal.
Any updates on this? We're looking at using a feed from AMO on mozilla.com
I'm currently knee deep in Firefox stuff, so I'll be getting around to this a little after beta 1. But feel free to drop any questions or design ideas on the wiki and I'll do my best to answer them promptly in the meantime.
