When importing an alias (i.e. a nickname that refers to one and only one other nickname - effectively a mailing list with one entry), the Eudora Address Book importer only imports the email address correctly - all other contact information remains in the original entry only. Consider the entries: JosephSmith joe@smith.com 858-555-1212 JoeSmith JosephSmith (i.e. entry for JosephSmith and alias that expands JoeSmith to JosephSmith). The Eudora Address Book importer will correctly retrieve the email address for JosephSmith when importing JoeSmith, but any other contact information (like the phone number, etc.) will not be associated with JoeSmith. This results in this after importing: JosephSmith joe@smith.com 858-555-1212 JoeSmith joe@smith.com I think the best analogy to Eudora's functionality is probably to create a mailing list with one entry when importing the JoeSmith entry. That would look like this: JosephSmith joe@smith.com 858-555-1212 JoeSmith JosephSmith (where JosephSmith is the only entry in the "JoeSmith" mailing list)
Fixed in patch submitted to bug 377816.
