If would be nice if disabled plugins could still be activated when needed by just clicking on them i.e what Flashblock extension does for Flash, but for every plugin...

It makes no sense to have a plugin installed but totally disabled, the current setting is useless.

NoScript can do it, but it also includes nonsense like its "XSS prevention" and also their very idea to block JS shows general incompetence so I would rather avoid it.
