User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; InfoPath.1; HbTools 4.8.4) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3 I get a continuous popup when using Firefox which begins with a yellow diamond with an exclamation mark(!)in my system tray lower right handside of my screen. Some minutes later a popup window appears that I may have some kind of security problem. When I click on the icon a new window pops up titled Personal Security Center. It is advertising Ultimate Fixer, Ultimate Defender, Ultimate Cleaner, and Security Monitor. I am not interested in any of these products. I have no idea how to fix this problem. I am not interested in this product and need to know how to stop this disturbing problem. Please advise. Regards, Jack Bell Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1.Execute Firefox 2.After some minutes the popups start 3.Unable to stop the problem Actual Results: Cannot find a way to block this popup Expected Results: I need this problem fixed as it is very disturbing to be continuously interrupted with these popups Blocked the popup
A quick search on "Ultimate Fixer" points out that this is a rogue program commonly installed along with other apps. This is not distributed with Firefox, nor does it really have anything to do with Firefox. You should scan your system for spyware with something like adaware as detailed here: http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?showtopic=8458 Please in the future use the support options available at http://www.mozilla.org/support. Bugzilla is not for user support.
