In the attached example please click on one of the "e" buttons, then look at the text in the input field. The text uses only half the width of the input field. As soon as you type a character, the text is suddenly rendered correctly.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. unzip attached example
2. open the html file
3. click on one of the "e" symbols

Affected versions of firefox:
1.5 on Windows XP,
2.0 on Windows XP,
2.0 on Linux.

This was fixed on trunk, by Bug 300030.

You are right it works in 3.0.
Sorry for posting duplicates.
Can it be fixed in 2.0 also?
