As discussed, we need space to store OS (Windows, OS X, etc) symbols for Breakpad. I will need access to it, but I'd like to leave it open to have other people able to do this as well.
This won't be huge, but it will be somewhat big. My set of symbols for Windows XP SP2 + the Visual C++ 2005 CRT symbols is about 552Mb. We will want to get symbols for as many supported operating systems as possible, plus there are different symbols for patches/service packs/etc. I don't expect this to be an automated process any time soon, although there is a tool in Breakpad SVN to grab symbols from Microsoft's Symbol Server.
Paul wants to figure out the process behind uploading these symbols. Once you guys figure out the appropriate users, etc, I will create a temporary space on the same nfs share that currently hosts the fxbld symbols.

So luser and I talked about this; for now, whomever uploads the symbols should do so as themselves (i.e. no role accounts), so people that are doing symbol uploads should request stage access. We might need to make a new group for those individuals. The files should be owned by the user that uploaded them and some symbols group (or some such). Back to Aravind to figure out the specifics; thanks guys.

Created /mnt/netapp/breakpad/symbols_os. This will be writeable by anyone in the breakpad group. luser: please file a bug to request an account on stage/surf to upload them or find someone who can upload symbols for you. Please note in the request that they be added to the breakpad group to upload stuff here. Note: This is only a temporary location. When breakpad goes live, we will carve out netapp space for these symbols along with the rest of the breakpad stuff.
