Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3 Build Identifier: Version 2.0.0.0 (20070326) I installed T-bird 2.0 yesterday, and by the end of the evening one of the accounts had a disabled Delete button. I could only remove mail by dragging it to Trash. As of this morning, 3 accounts have the same problem and a fourth just started doing it. * Restarting t-bird doesn't help * Restarting computer doesn't help * I have *NO* filters * I have disabled Junk mail controls NOTHING appears to restore the Delete button. I've checked other bugs in searches but none of the posted workarounds apply (selecting other folder, tabbing to display) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Select a message 2. Look to see if Delete button is active or inactive Actual Results: Delete is inactive for all mail in all folders on a given account. Once it disables then there's no way to get it back. Expected Results: Delete should work. Neither the delete key nor the delete button work. I'll be happy to provide any useful debugging, but I'm going to limit this to the next 24 hours because I'll have to uninstall tbird 2 and go back to 1.5 until this problem is solved.
Jo, do you have extensions or a theme installed ? Do you your reported error also when you start Thunderbird in Safe Mode ? (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode) and/or with a new profile ?
Version: unspecified → 2.0
To create a new profile use the profile manager: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder
Yes in Safe Mode. Creating a new profile seems to recreate the same behavior as adding a new account. It's working now, but I suspect it will stop working something in the next 48 hours. Deleting and recreating the account does solve the problem, but only for a while. FYI: I forgot to mention that all accounts are IMAP4 and I'm using three different IMAP servers, but all three are Cyrus-based.
I think this may be a duplicate of bug 377900. (Fixed on trunk)
For the record and anyone else searching, it seems there's some back and forth on just whose bug this is -- but a fix/workaround for Cyrus is to add the obsolete c and d flags back to the account, like so: localhost> lam user/jrhett@netconsonance.com jrhett@netconsonance.com lrswipkxtea localhost> sam user/jrhett@netconsonance.com jrhett@netconsonance.com lrswipkxteacd
Ok, duping then...
