Hi all

I generally use N (and M) to go from one unread to another. When an inbox, say for an RSS feed, is exhausted TB2 asks me if I want to move to another inbox, say another RSS feed or emails, to which I answer with Y.

The pointer does move onto the next inbox and the correct message is displayed in the bottom left screen, but unfortunately the grid above the displayed message does not refresh.

Please take the necessary corrective action.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set top right grid to display 5 and 1/2 messages
2. Read RSS (esp. ones with a lot of messasge like for eg. Digg)
3. from another RSS press N for the next record (which will be in the Digg folder)
4. The message displayed will be correct for the Preview Window
5. Notice the top right grid above the Preview window does not have a highlight nor the correct set of messages

Expected Results:
I would have expected the grid to be position on the first of the messages and highlighted
Could you provide a screenshot of what things look like around step 4?
Version: unspecified → 2.0
This is the situation I had been describing.

... and 2.0 too.
Summary: N for the next unread but top grid is not positioned right → N for the next unread does not scroll message into view in threadpane
Just tested using version 2.0.0.0 (20070326) on Windows XP and this works for me, too. It doesn't matter which direction I sort the entries in the RSS feed either.

Are you using any extensions, Bhavbhuti? Also, do you see anything in the Error Console after this happens?
1) I am using Win2000 Prof SP4, if it matters.
2) I opened Error Console cleared everything that was there and tried to navigate till I got the situation, but the EC remained empty
3) I use Duplicate Contact Manager 0.3, QuickText 0.9.9.9 and Talkback 2.0.0.0 as extensions
4) If you will look at my screen shots, I will try to explain a new observation
4a) When N was skipping from 'XKCD' subfolder (in 'Get Images') to 'BBC | Business' subfolder (in 'News') the highlight was okay
4b) When N was skipping from 'BBC | Business' subfolder (in 'News') to 'BBC | Front Page' (also in 'News') the problem appeared
4c) So I presume it has something to do with skipping in the subfolders

Hope it helps.
More observations:

'FinEx Front Page' (in 'News') had 3 messages, I Ctrl+A the 3 messages and Shift+Del them. Press N to skip to 'IE Breaking News' (also in 'News') which had 10 messages and the highlight is okay (nullifying point 4b mentioned in the previous message, point 4a XKCD had one message). So probably jumping from a folder containing less messages to one that has more is not a problem, but a folder having more records jumping to another with more messages is a problem.

Incidentally, I have the practice of Ctrl+A and Shift+Del for most of the RSS feeds.
don't see this in version 3.0a1pre (2007110302)

Reporter, does this issue still occur in the latest supported 2.0.0.14 / trunk nightlies?
Whiteboard: CLOSEME 2008-06-05
Yes, it still does. If it matters some of the folders where I have seen this behavior have auto delete enabled so there are stuff being deleted when the focus is transfered maybe causing the highlighted record move out of the grid visible area. Just my 2 cents. Thanks.

suggest you simplify the steps, i.e. take away parts of this (folder options, etc) until you find the minimum set of steps and options that cause the problem. Starting with, is it only RSS folders?

additionally, since such an issue will never get fixed in version 2, probably better for you to test this with trunk, eg, shredder alpha 1, to determine if it occurs for you there, where it will ultimately get fixed.
