The installer denominates the thunderbird main install folder "Mozilla Thunderbird Beta 2" although it is not the Beta-version of thunderbird 2.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open the thunderbird self-extracting-installation file
2.Install thunderbird with the normal settings
3.Now check under c/programs/Mozilla Thunderbird Beta 2
Actual Results:  
the description of the folder is wrong

Expected Results:  
It should denominate the file "Mozilla Thunderbird 2" instead "Mozilla Thunderbird Beta 2"

I'm thinking you had the beta2 version installed in that folder first... ? Have you tried a clean install?

Please comment if the issue still occurs in the latest supported 2.0.0.14 / trunk nightlies.

No the problem is fixed, it does not appear in the newest version of thunderbird anymore.
