For organizing mail's, a time-triggered reminder support would great (on German: Wiedervorlage).
Sometimes a mail needs (re-)processing after some time, or it is not relevant for some time.
In this case, it just lingers in the inbox, forcing the user each time to check, if it is now relevant.
If the mail could be tagged with a "reminder date", the default view would hide the message, and after the reminder date is expired, it would be visible again.

bug 293194 is simular, but IMHO more Calendar specific: my focus is not a Calendar integration, but a additonal way of managing my inbox.

For me (like many others) the e-mail inbox is also a "TODO storage". This works well when the task (=the e-mail message in the inbox) should be worked on immediately. When the task starts some time (e.g. 3 weeks) in the future, it just clutters the inbox, and is likely to be "forgotten".

Lightning is the integrated calendar (integrated with thunderbird). Since you anyway would need to be able to specify when you need the reminder etc., it's very likely that's the way it will be implemented.

O.k., i'm fine with the integration with the calendar.

I still think that my propoced enhancement request is not a dupe of bug 293194, because my major point is the "hiding in the inbox": a reminder without that filtering would not provide the solution to my problem.

I miss also such feature. The only thing I miss in my private mailbox, which I use in the companies Outlook.

I see it in same way as Jürgen. Calendar is an add-on, which can be installed, but tagging a mail with a reminder date is still missing.
