Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2) Gecko/20070219 Firefox/2.0.0.2
Installed Security Update 2.0.0.3 to Firefox version 2.0.0.2. All my customizations disappeared: bookmarks, logins & passwords, autofill info., toolbar changes, everything. I was back to plain vanilla. Furthermore, when I tried to import bookmarks from I.E.,Firefox apologized before aborting. Twice.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Not reproducible. Would have to revert to previous configuration of Firefox which, unfortunately, is gone.

Sounded promising. Unfortunately, not only didn't it work, but it reset the few customizations I'd performed after the original problem. Now I'm really back to square one.
sigh.

No. Sorry. I read all the posts on 319196 and they all refer to lost bookmarks only. I lost bookmarks, autofill data, previously saved userid/passwords, toolbar customizations, themes. The whole nine yards. The gantza megilla. The full monty. The whole shebang. The works. The kit and caboodle.
So, the way I see it, you haven't even touched my problem. Certainly not by declaring it a dupe of something vaguely similar.
I don't care if you can't fix it or explain it, but please don't insult me by trying to shuffle me off to some bogus explanation.

Sounds like you've lost your entire profile, which used to be more of a problem because people would create a new one when they got the "Profile in use" startup error. We shouldn't conduct tech support through a bug, but you could look on disk and see if you have two profiles. Or launch firefox from a command prompt with the "-p" option to bring up the profile manager and see if there's more than one option.
If you've got two, switch to the other one. If there's only one check on disk and see (kb.mozillazine.org has information on where the profile is stored on each OS).
If you switched windows logins you'll end up with separate "Application Data" folders under windows, and since that's where the profile data is stored it'll look like everything's lost. (Not a likely explanation--you'd have mentioned that I'm sure--but worth throwing out there.)
