User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2) Gecko/20061023 SUSE/2.0.0.2-1.1 Firefox/2.0.0.2 Build Identifier: version 1.5.0.10 (20060911) I have approximately 200 filters setup to move incoming email from my Inbox to the relevant subfolder under Inbox. The error shows itself when I am viewing the contents of the Trash folder. If I then select to 'Run filters on folder', all the messages which have filters are transferred to the folder they were initially deleted from. I had almost 2000 items(1 months worth) in my Trash that have now reverted to their 'parent' folders. I currently have 115 items in Trash and do not let the system delete any via the preferences. Due to the number of emails I now have to reread and delete, I have not tried to reproduce this problem. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. An email arrives in the Inbox from the opensuse-users list 2. Message is filtered to its OO-users subfolder under Inbox 3. After reading the message I delete it and it correctly goes to the Trash 4. If I then select Trash and 'Run filters on folder', the email is transferred back to the OO-users subfolder. Actual Results: Not tried a second time Expected Results: When I 'Run filters on folder' the filters should ONLY run on the new messages in the Inbox( Inbox in BOLD with a number) OR There should be the ability to setup filters per folder I am using KDE 3.5.5 release 45.4 on kernel version 2.6.18.1 updated via Yast
Version: unspecified → 1.5
I understand that it wasn't what you wanted it to do, but it sounds like the filter did exactly what it was supposed to do. If you have a one row criteria now and want it to only include new mail, just add a and "status is" criteria in the filter. You likely want bug 226422. See also bug 59365 (via bug 197362).
Tnx Magnus for the tip. I do however think that the filters need a default place to run ie Inbox as opposed to the parent that holds Onbox, Sent and Trash as well as any folders created.
Yes, that's bug 59365...
