User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2) Gecko/20070221 SeaMonkey/1.1.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2) Gecko/20070221 SeaMonkey/1.1.1 When I am downloading a large file a Saving window appears showing the progress. Often when I move other SeaMonkey windows around during the download, they 'hop' to the location of the saving window. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. go to the url given 2. launch the download 3. let the download proceed while you move windows around Actual Results: While the download is going, but NOT when it is paused, the upper right corner of windows that I move around suddenly 'hop' to match the upper right corner of the download dialog window. If I try to move the window where I want it, it will hop back. If I move the window a small distance, it MIGHT not hop back. So I can get it where I want sometimes by a series of small moves. Expected Results: Of course the windows should be completely independent! I should be able to place windows where I want and they should not hop across the screen just because I'm downloading. It looks like there are some variables that are not set correctly. For example, the saving window perhaps uses a global variable that is the current position of the currently specified window. So if I go to another window, the position gets overridden. If this is the case, then the saving windows (note the plural!!) should EACH have their own independent position variables. That is, someone mixed up variables that should be local to each window and apparently used them in a more global way.
Oh, on the URL page, the one I was downloading is: Part 1-Audio MP3 Note: This posting IN NO WAY supports the Intelligent Design concept, which is scientifically wrong.
Can you reproduce with SeaMonkey v1.1.9 ?
Version: unspecified → SeaMonkey 1.1 Branch
Yes, I'm using SeaMonkey v1.1.9 and reproduced it just now. I'm on Mac OS X 10.5 fully upgraded. The web site I gave before was not responding so I went to CNN: http://www.cnn.com/ where this happens frequently. I opened one of the videos, "Grannies kiss Obama, dance for Clinton" by 'Open Link in Wew Window". The new window opened and began to load the video. I then tried to move the window I'd launched the video window from and the launcher window snapped to the video window persistently. I still think that it's a matter of some variable for the location of the window not being defined carefully for each window. Thanks for looking a this!
Download manager has recently been refurbished. Sm 1.1.x is now discontinued. Can you reproduce with 2.0.4 or later? If yes, please speak up, with useragent string, as seen after "Build identifier" at the bottom of the page which comes up when typing about: (followed by Enter) in the URL bar. If you can't reproduce, or remain silent, this bug will be closed WORKSFORME

(In reply to comment #4) I haven't seen this bug for a long time and 2.0.4 works just fine. You can close it as Resolved if I'm unable to. Thanks!
