An issue has been crippling my experience with Thunderbird for a while now. I've experienced it since 1.5, and it's still present in 2.0 and the latest trunk nightly build (version 3.0a1 (20070506)). Basically, any action that should call the Windows file chooser (such as attaching a file or installing a new add-on) causes Thunderbird to freeze completely. After having discussed this issue on the MozillaZine forums (http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=541235), there unfortunately hasn't been any resolution found for my problem. I'm aware that this a very obscure bug, since no one seems to be able to reproduce it except myself. Here are some fun facts : * Accessing the file chooser with Firefox (i.e. the same Gecko engine) works. * Copying my whole profile, running it with Thunderbird under Linux and trying to access the file chooser works. * Uninstalling, removing the program directory and reinstalling does not remove the bug. * Using new profiles does not fix it, either. I'm essentially stumped. I can still attach files by using drag n' drop, but I certainly can't install any add-ons. I can't really tell anything else, as I fail to get any meaningful output from Thunderbird. If anyone can get me some kind of debug build that might help tracing whatever is going out, please chime in!

Looks like this bug vanished into thin air; I now can reach the file chooser without any issue. Since I cannot even reproduce this one myself, I guess I'll bury it for now. I'll be back if anything new happens ! \o/ -> WFM
