If I just do NS_InitXPCOM2 + do_GetService(nsISocketTransportService) + NS_ShutdownXPCOM, XPCOM shutdown hangs.

Thanks to biesi for pointing out that simply getting the IO service somewhere works.  This is totally not intuitive at all (seriously...).

It would be nice if it's at least documented.  It's nicer if it could just magically do the right thing (I have no idea how).
