Email applications frequently render long URLs incorrectly, inserting CR/LF characters to cause them to wrap. When those URLs are copied and pasted into the location bar, we break on the first CR/LF and end up with a partial URL.

It seems like we could, instead, simply ignore the CR/LF character and concatenate the two substrings to get a full URL. A nice little polish issue.
Isn't this bug 23485 (fixed on trunk)?

Yup. It sure is. I was only searching in the Firefox product which is why I didn't catch the dupe. Thanks, Uri. Marking as dupe so it'll sit in this product.
