User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3 Build Identifier: version 2.0.0.0 (20070326) I have some mail here (IMAP Postbox) that shows "Sender" in the mails list "Ronny..." and shows "Heike" ind the header of the mail details... see attachement. Curiously the mail source doesn't show the Sender "Ronny". The user doesn't know whether the mail sender is correct and it's the wrong message or it's the right message but the sender is incorrect. verifying by webmail interface shows: the sender in mails list is correct but thunderbird shows the wrong message. tried restart --> problem reoccurs. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Screenshot with Sender differing to From (wrong mail body to correct sender)
btw. i moved to the affected message to a local folder... now right message body shows up.

Do you know what mail server it is? Can you attach the mail? Save as .eml.
Version: unspecified → 2.0
I try to figure out the exact mail-server... takes a few days.

(In reply to comment #1) > Screenshot > Screenshot with Sender differing to From (wrong mail body to correct sender) Screen shot says - message in message pain is mail of "Subject:AW:AW:[Fwd:...", which is not found in thread pain of your partial screen shot. Problem is *NOT* "Sender differing to From (wrong mail body to correct sender)". Phenomenon is - different mail in message pain from active(reversed) mail in mail list pain(thread pain). Several bugs are already opened for : Message pain is not refreshed after rebuild index, view change and so on. It causes mismatch between thread pain and message pain. (Sorry but I don't remember bug number) Will "clicking other folder then click the folder again" show expected mail body? If some other problem is encountered, check View/Thread and View/Character encoding setting for folders you tried to switch.

That's odd, the attached message source start with X-Mozilla-Status: 0003 X-Mozilla-Status2: 00000000 >From - Wed May 16 00:31:15 2007 X-Mozilla-Status: 0001 X-Mozilla-Status2: 00000000 >From - Thu May 10 23:58:28 2007
Mail server is a 'courier-imap' version 1.4.2 (old but stable).

can you reproduce this using version 3.0 [1] or 3.1 [2]? [1] http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/ [2] http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/early_releases/ (beta 2 comes out soon)
