User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20061201 Firefox/2.0.0.3 (Ubuntu-feisty) Build Identifier: I have tried to install "sunbird-0.3.1.en-US.linux-i686.tar.bz2" and it puts the program folder in place into the home directory (with it showing that the folder is "locked) but has no executable file or icon placed on the desktop. I installed twice and it did the same thing both times. I used the recommended tar that is on the release notes web page to install it - "tar -xjvf". There is a file in the main Sunbird directory that can be used to start the program, but it asks how the file should be viewed/executed when it is clicked on - it is *NOT* a "normal" executable/program startup file. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install 2. No startup executable file or icon 3. Actual Results: Install using "tar -xjvf" for the tar install. Makes folder in home directory but not in ~/.mozilla Has no icon to start program. Expected Results: Expected at least a desktop icon, but it did not do so. I am using Ubuntu v7.04. I downloaded the file from the main Sunbird web page.
Sunbird doesn't provide an installer. Just unpack the archive to target folder, change to new created subfolder "sunbird" and run "./sunbird". You'll have to create a desktop icon on your own if you need one.

I used the Ubuntu Forums url you gave and it worked. Thanks!
