For a corporate environment, it is important to hide certain aspects of the Thunderbird UI. This can be done using either a Label or ID references to an element. While using just one language, either does fine. When using multiple languages it's more difficult because the Label is different for each language, and there is not always a corresponding ID to reference. Please make sure that all elements have an ID associated to them so they can be referenced regardless of the language of the Label. Thanks.

I don't think we want to add id's to all elements - just the ones that might want to be hidden or modified...

Yes that's correct, just ID's for elements that could be hidden or modified.
