User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3 Build Identifier: Camino nightly builds 2007.05.19 and 2007.05.20 The pull-down menus ALL look like this: http://www.armadillo.net/2007.05.20.bad.camino.pull.down.menus.png Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Start Camino 2.Click on a pull-down menu item. 3. Actual Results: messed up menu text Expected Results: legible menu text This is what it looks like: http://www.armadillo.net/2007.05.20.bad.camino.pull.down.menus.png This is on a Mac G5/quad, Tiger 10.4.9 (all updates installed, except Xserv RAID) Replacing Camino 1.5 with the stable release 1.0.4 resolves this problem. BOTH builds 2007.05.19 and 2007.05.20 exhibit this "bug" on my system. Additionally, none of the usual commands work at all. command-n (no window opens) command-q (camino will not quit)... oddly, if I pulldown the unreadable menu and click on the AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA command-Q, Camino will quit, but clicking on the AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA command-N does NOT bring up a window.
Does a log out and log back in eventually fix this issue ? I've never seen it with Camino, but QuickSilver has done that twice recently.
Do you have any appearance-altering software installed? A corrupted font set as the OS font could probably cause this (or even a dingbats font not intended for actual text use). cl
That's LastResort.dfont shown there, which means the OS can't find any font that contains the characters requested (!) This really seems like something is seriously amiss with your OS install.
Summary: All drop down menu text is replaced with AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA's → All drop down menu text is replaced with glyphs from LastResort.dfont
I wouldn't be surprized to learn that my OSX install was hosed. I seem incapable of keeping an OS in working order for long. ;-) The thing that troubles me though, is that this happens *only* in Camino, and *only* with the newest nightly builds. I'm now back to 1.0.4 and everything is working fine. Also, yes, I'm pretty sure I *rebooted* the computer several times and Camino Nightly 2007.05.19-20 consistently gave that problem. Also, probably deserves a different bug number, when Camino crashes in the middle of a Restore session the session gets hosed, and when you do finally get Camino up & running all of your old session snapshot data is gone. In my case when I back-graded to 1.0.4 I also lost 100+ days of History!
Per comment 4, this sounds like it isn't a Camino problem. RESOLVED INVALID. Please file new bugs (after searching) for the other issues you mentioned in comment 5.
